Clann Éireann has a rich tradition of promoting cycling and cycle racing dating back to 1960. The club is located in Lurgan, Northern Ireland and its members participate in races both in Ireland and continental Europe.

The club actively encourages cycling throughout the Lurgan area by promoting cycle training in schools and leading a club run with their neighbouring club Apollo CT every Sunday morning. All new comers are welcome to join these training rides, leaving Church place at 9.30 a.m.

Clann Éireann is an inclusive club that supports all level of riders from novice to first category racer. Anyone interested in joining Clann Éireann can contact members or officials in the contacts section of the site.

Fast night for the Clann

On Thursaday night Clann Éireann had 6 senior riders representing the club in the Dave Kane Ulster league series. The 10 mile circuit at the Birches proved a fast route for the Clannsmen with two personal and a season best posted.

With ace tester John Heverin on marshalling duties the team were still able to claim second, fourth & eigth place. Well done to all who competed.

First blood for Ciara

Clann Éireann teenage sensation Ciara Mulholland took a well deserved victory in this year's opening women's race. Ciara showed her class in the finishing sprint to jump early and hold on for victory. Ciara now sits at the top of the UWA's RR League, with the next event at Aghagallon on March 26th, Clann Eireann hope that Ciara can make the most of home advantage.

2010 ICL Update

All marshals this year will receive 3 points toward the league. The league will consist of 21 events, 10 TT ,1 HC and 10 RR. The TT and RR will be on alternative weeks and the best 8 results count for the league. Handicapping will be the same as last year with the TT league also having a scratch league where no handicapping will apply, this scratch league will not be used in the overall league. We welcome Island wheelers to the league for 2010 who will be running their share of races on our courses, the first 3 Island Wheelers TT will like the Traynor Memorial be open events and will be part of their super 6 events, riders will have the option to compete in either or both on the night. As a result of a fourth tean joining the league we will have to impose the 5 teams rule strickly this year, as a result we have decided first non league team to sign on will be the only team to ride that night,i.e if one rider for Banbridge signs on and 5 Dromara riders turn up they will not be permitted to ride( please spread the word as refusal can some time offend) . Club clothing must be worn at all events and again riders will be turned away if they do not have their club clothing on. Handicaps for the TT league will be pposted to the web before each event.
