Clann Éireann Senior racing team kicked started their season with the Annaclone GP hosted by Banbridge CC. Clann Éireann fielded 3 riders in the senior A Race. Brothers Marty & Barry McConville along with Conor Grimes lined up to race 5 laps of the 13km circuit. All three riders were actively involved in early moves with all escaping in short lived breaks.
The group of A3 riders stayed clear of the field until the penultimate lap when a group of 7 riders bridged the gap. The final 4 miles saw a an array of attacks whittling down the field until a quartet of riders gained a 20 second advantage and held it until the line with former Clannsman Thomas Martin claiming victory. The Clann Eireann duo of Marty McConville & Conor Grimes came in with the top bunch some 15 seconds of the pace. In the B event Michael McConville made his open senior début racing valiantly and gaining valuable experience for the forthcoming season. On Sunday Phoenix cc hosted their annual GP. Clann Eireann were represented By Kenny McConaghy in the A4 race. Kenny raced strongly at the business end of the pack continuing to show the form that gained him the Clann's most improved rider of last season.
